These are my new favorite cookies! They are sooo good! Created by a mother who needed to come up with a new kind of cookie for her nut-hating son, this recipe utilizes two of my favorite flavors, sweet and salty. In order to give the cookies the crunchiness of nuts, without actually using them, the boy's mother decided to replace the nuts with pretzels and potato chips. In addition, her son, who sounds like a royal pain in the butt, would only eat the frosted portion of the cookies that she made, leaving the rest uneaten, so she added chocolate to both ends. That way, he'd eat the whole thing! I guess I'm glad that this particular mom had a picky eater for a son, otherwise we wouldn't have these wonderful cookies! Great idea! I hope I'm that creative when I start having kids. ;-p
what a great idea and combination of flavors! very inspiring indeed
Hey, that was me! Glad you liked them! :-)
I didn't even notice the pain in the butt comment! Ha, ha ... he is kind of a pain in the butt sometimes. Aren't they all? Although almost all kids will eat the dipped end of a cookie and leave the undipped end on the plate. At least almost all the ones I know.
I love this. I love potato chips and chocolate--I must try this wonderful combo
I've been making potato chip cookies for, hmmmmmm well, since I was a teen, so 30 years now,but we dredge them in powdered sugar. I like the salty sweet combo myself, and it is still a frequently requested and favorite cookie
Pretzels and potato chips? Sounds interesting!
What a great idea! I love sweet/salty, and anything with pretzel flavor, so I'll give these a go. I don't even need to dip them in chocolate. Perhaps some mini chips inside would be tasty, however!
Good idea but my great grandmother has been doing the Potato Chips cookies since her great grandmother. But good job with adding the prtzel and the white and chocolate chips. But take those out and boy just plain Potato Chips and boy they are a fav in our family and friends!
Why would you want your kid to eat cookies anyway?? I want mine to stop eating cookies!
